Reporting Assistant, Search and Discovery - Marketing

Job Summary: 




The successful applicant will assist the IEEE Marketing, Sales, and Design team as they create a new process for developing ongoing reports to identify new sales and partner opportunities.  The reports will be based on article citation information, usage data, and other information. 




Key Responsibilities:




  • Searching and working with external databases related to IEEE discipline areas to find and capture data for use in this process.
  • Integrating internal and external usage data into the reporting process.
  • Gathering relevant information from scholarly articles from various information sources into a spreadsheet format.
  • Formatting captured information for analysis and reporting.
  • Working with colleagues to analyze captured information and identifying customer and partner opportunities.
  • Creating reports for sales, marketing, product and other internal stakeholders.
  • Working with colleagues to communicate results of analysis to appropriate IEEE departments.
  • Documenting the process so reports can be created in the future.








Education and Experience:


  • Library Science – undergraduate, graduate, or MLS.
  • Knowledge of scholarly communication environment and scientific publishing.






Skills & Other Requirements:


  • Knowledge of scholarly search systems (e.g. Google Scholar, Web of Science, Scopus, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word and knowledge of Microsoft Access.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
